What is the purpose in life?

by aki_travel @ Sunday, 27. Apr, 2008 - 19:35:55

Was clearing my emails & i guess not many really spend time now to read or forward meaningful emails. Only a handful and i do appreciate those who did and glad i stop to give some a read.

I was reading one which i've forward to many. Cos it made me pause and ponder. It's an email about God.

Though i'm a buddhist, i respect all religions and that email did hit a chord in me.

I'm sure many had ask yourself many times why you're on this earth for?
Is it to fulfill a to-do list that u're thrown to do on earth?
Or is discovering who you are(developing as a person) more important than what you do?

"What gain is it for anyone to win the whole world and forfeit his soul? (Matthew 16:26)"

There's something i wish to share with everyone. I read it somewhere and it's stuck to me ever since. i'll throw myself this question when a big decision i have to make arise when i'm stuck :" If u live each day as if it were your last... will u still make this decision?"
Only when you're near death, when u're thrown to your brink, exposed, what matters to you most will remain.

yeah.. guess the "craze" of forwarding emails is gone. Remember when there was this period of time when you have thousands of email getting forwarded? haha.. all thanks to spam filtering. But like you said, we do miss out some good and valuable ones

yeah, i used to forward a lot when i was still a sec school girl i rem haha. And had made a pen pal from that. TIme flies. Now working people & friends don't even have time to meet up not say opening email to read & simply hit the 'delete' button. But i still give each email attention since ppl take the trouble to forward to me:) Maybe i don't have too much spam mails. jiayou & gd luck for your final stretch my friend;)
